A Eulogy for Phil Western

Digital art of Phil and I by Simon Laplante

Phillip Charles Western IV

Aug. 12, 1971 – Feb. 4, 2019

Phil may have left this mortal coil, but his essence continues to influence my heart and soul.

I’m very grateful Phil graced my life with his presence and taught me more about the value of love and helped me discover my love values.

Phil showed me how to love unconditionally, with a whole heart, at all times. He also showed me how I want to be loved and how I deserve to be loved: with the deepest understanding and absolutely loving curiosity, no matter what transpires.

Despite the ugly hardships we endured, he never turned away his heart, and he never judged me for my foolishness.

I promise to do the same to others as he has done to me: to love unconditionally, with great compassion, authentic consideration, genuine curiosity and the deepest heart-driven understanding.

Phil’s heart lives on in mine.
