My Collages are in an Art Show!

Hello lovelies. I am so thrilled to share that three of my digital collages were accepted by the Carroll Gallery (New Orleans) for the On Display: a Twenty-First Century Salon des Refusés community art show.

If you are in town, please join me on Thursday, August 28 for a panel discussion from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. (I am not speaking) followed by an opening reception from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

On a personal note, this is a really beautiful moment for me not only because it is the first gallery show I have done in 10 years, but also because the vibrant and dramatic portrait paintings of my partner Jeff Fried will also be in the show! It’s such a wonderful gift to share this experience with him.

I am so grateful to be making art more again. The spirit of New Orleans has really helped me find my way back to it. And so has the support and encouragement from my partner.

In the last year, I’ve been exploring photography, oil pastels, digital and analog collage, drawing, painting, and mixed media. I also want to get back into graphite after finding my old undergrad assignments. I am working toward refining my approach and discovering which mediums to focus on indefinitely. If you are curious about what this looks like, please follow me on Cara.
