I had a photo assignment today and I wanted to share with anyone who might stumble across my blog since I haven’t posted in aeons.
Here are my depth of field shots.
This one emphasizes color. I got lucky after taking a few frames of passers-by and then this color scheme popped up.
These photos represent something we normally take for granted but look interesting in a close-up.

I sucked at taking pictures of movement, so I will work on that and add some later.
The final task was to photograph something that “seemed problematic, not would it should be, or just something that seems concerning.” Apparently, few people actually scope out what’s going on above or below them. My journalistic eye happened to catch two people who climbed outside of the window at Lincoln Hall at Portland State University.
I continued my search for the practice and found this potential hazard on the ground in front of the Smith Memorial Student Union building on campus.
Hopefully I’ll remember to continue posting these assignments.
